| Old Forge Services opened its doors for business in 1987. Like many other carriers, we started out as a small family owned trucking company that employed one driver with one truck and one trailer. Constantly looking for new opportunity, we have expanded our business to encompass many arenas of the transportation industry including, pallet recycling, packaging supply, and most recently brokerage. Through this expansion we have been able to maintain our core philosophy to operate as a family owned business with family values.
Our packaging and pallet business originated when we began to recognize our customer’s need for packaging and supply services. In true Old Forge fashion, we adapted and created two new departments. To this day we currently recycle pallets, and supply packing materials for many of our accounts. Later, a warehouse was added for storage and to facilitate the growing need to our customers for both partial shipments and LTL.
Our small one driver company has now grown to employ 25 people. Currently we operate 2 facilities and aproximately 70 pieces of equipment throughout the United States. Our fleet consists of 48’ and 53’ vans, flatbeds, and step decks. Most of our vans are equipped with e-trac as well as logistics posts assuring your cargo is secured properly and arrives on time without incident.
More recently, we opened a brokerage department. This department was also started by one individual but has rapidly expanded and branched off into a new company which now operates under the name of Vital Transportation Solutions. The latest addition to the family known as Old Forge has allowed us to service our customer’s needs in a variety of ways saving them both time and money while giving them just one point of contact for all of their shipping needs. Old forge Freight Services has the ability to service our accounts in the 48 states, Canada, and Mexico.
